Who runs the email list

MacroMonitor runs the email list and decides how subscriber information is used. For questions about the list or your personal information, contact info@macromonitor.org.

What we use and why

When you subscribe, we collect your email address, the GDP weekly and/or inflation monthly updates you choose, and records of your signup and any later changes or withdrawal. We use these details to send the updates you requested and manage your subscription. Our basis for sending them is your consent. Subscribing is optional; you can use the website without doing so.

Our email provider

Brevo hosts the signup form, manages the subscription lists and delivers our emails. It processes the information needed to provide those services, including delivery and subscription records. Brevo says its database servers are in the European Union. Its affiliates and service providers may also process information in other countries. Its Data Processing Agreement says it uses Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary measures for international transfers, and may rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework while it remains valid. The agreement is part of its data processing terms. You can ask us for information about those safeguards.

Brevo records email delivery, opens and link clicks. Campaign tracking is currently set to anonymous, so opens and clicks are reported as aggregate counts rather than linked to individual contacts.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address, chosen updates and subscription record while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, Brevo blocks your address from further email campaigns but retains the contact record and its history. We review unsubscribed records and email event history at least once a year, remove information we no longer need, and retain the minimum opt-out information needed to avoid sending you marketing again. Brevo does not automatically delete older email events for an account of our current size, so this review is our responsibility. If you ask us to erase your data, we will explain any opt-out record we need to retain.

Your choices and rights

You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us. You can ask to see or correct information we hold about you, request its deletion or restriction where applicable, and object to direct marketing. Send these requests to info@macromonitor.org. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
